Simms Added To Roster

The Indiana Fever has suffered yet another loss at the point guard position by losing veteran guard Briann January to a season ending meniscus tear in her right knee.  The WNBA has granted Indiana and emergency hardship exception to supplement their shorten roster.   Indiana has signed rookie Jennie Simms, a 6-foot guard out of Old Dominion who was a second-round draft pick (18th overall) of the Washington Mystics last April, and who played 10 games with the Mystics through July 16. The Conference USA Player of the Year and the nation’s second-leading scorer with 26.0 points per game last year as a senior, Simms will join the Fever prior to Wednesday’s game with the New York Liberty.
